Pant involved in heated exchange with Mominul Haque during day-three of second Test

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was involved in a heated exchange with Bangladesh batter Mominul Haque on the third day of the second Test in Dhaka on Thursday.

The incident occurred during the 21st over of India's second innings, with Pant batting on 9 and Haque bowling.

As Haque delivered a short-pitched delivery, Pant attempted to pull it but the ball hit his glove and lobbed towards square leg. Haque appealed for a catch, but the umpire turned down the appeal.

Pant claims Haque hit his gloves

Pant was adamant that the ball had hit his gloves before it went to the fielder, and he expressed his anger towards Haque.

The stump microphone picked up Pant saying, “Kya kar raha hai (What are you doing)?”

Haque retorted, “Aap kyun maar raha hai (Why are you hitting me)?”

Umpires intervene

The on-field umpires intervened to calm the situation, and play resumed after a brief delay.

Pant went on to score 93 off 104 balls before being dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

India are currently leading the two-match series 1-0, having won the first Test in Chattogram by 188 runs.
