Grand National Horses 2023 Deaths Today

Animal Rights Activists Condemn Grand National After Third Horse Death

Three horses have died during the three-day Grand National meeting, including National runner Hill Sixteen.

Since 2000, a total of 61 horses have died at the event, sparking outrage from animal rights activists.

The Grand National is a steeplechase horse race held annually at Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool, England. It is one of the most prestigious and challenging races in the world, but it has also been marred by a number of horse deaths.

In 2011, two horses died during the race, and in 2012, one horse died. In 2013, there were no horse deaths, but in 2014, one horse died. In 2015, two horses died, and in 2016, one horse died.

The deaths of these horses have led to calls for the race to be banned. Animal rights activists argue that the race is too dangerous and that it puts horses at unnecessary risk.

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has defended the race, saying that it is safe and that the welfare of the horses is paramount. The BHA has also introduced a number of safety measures in recent years, including reducing the number of fences in the race and increasing the size of the landing areas.

However, animal rights activists remain opposed to the race. They argue that the BHA's safety measures are not enough and that the race should be banned.
